Ideal Home Exhibition

So, today I went to the Ideal Home Exhibition. I probably should have been doing dissertation work but instead I was in London window shopping for a house I dont have.

At uni I know quite a few fashion students that are constantly trying to make me more fashionable. Anyhoo they're always banging on about the ring finger manicure... (that's painting your ring finger nail a different colour to the rest of your hand to you and me.)

Anyway the woman at the exhibition attacked me with a metal plate full of patterns and a silicon stamp. I think the result is quite pretty, subtle enough it doesn't scream "I'm trying to pretend I'm fashionable!". Just a nice white pattern over the same colour as the rest of my nails.

So you're probably wondering why I've posted a ridiculous picture of myself hiding behind my own hand. Well that because I have next to no makeup on in the photo and my hair is a mess.

But why have I posted this photo? To show you the eyebrows some random woman stenciled on to me. I personally hate them. As a rule - I hate eyebrows, I just don't like them. I usually bleach mine to the point you can't see them, but I havent recently. I thought I'd let the woman have a go at them as i tend to have very curved eyebrows and I wouldn't mind if they looked a bit more angular. however they just look curved and dark. Bleugh. I don't care if dark bushy eyebrows are fashionable at the moment. They are not for me.

Humourous?

So I saw The Hangover Part II yesterday, and I have to say, I'm not so sure. So far everyone I know that's seen it, loved it. I dunno, maybe it's 'cause I saw it with my parentals in toll. I think I might have been hyper-aware of the bad language and all round not so wholesome goings on.

Not that the first film wasn't filled with such naughty shenanigans, but I felt like this entire film was about just one-upping the last. I know everyone is fully aware of the fact that it has the same plot as the last film, as though they're all 'in on the joke'.

Well that's all fine except I found a lot of the new film just vulgar. Honestly, I'm probably not the target audience for this film, despite the fact I enjoyed the last one. Living in a house with 6 boys, I've learnt to deal with South Park, Jackass or Dirty Sanchez. Just because I've learnt to try and find some of their antics bearable, does not mean I find them funny. I honestly think that comedians today (judging by most on the ones on the Comedy course at my university.) seem to think the secret to making people laugh is to shock them to the point where they don't know whether to laugh or be disgusted, and then claim the ones who laugh are the one who 'get you'

'Safe' comedy in my opinion? Much harder. Anyone can speak a few vulgarities, but to take something simple that requires timing, and charisma

Here goes...

I have joined the world of Blogger/BlogSpot...

I'll be honest with you, I am yet too be convinced. I'm an old fashioned blogger shall we say and am still desperately clinging to my

The active blogger and fandom have been on the decline there for a very long time and I was standing around wondering where everyone had gone. My reliable sources all seemed to point here. So here I am, feeling like some kinda of sheep and a little like I've betrayed my roots. But I'm going to go one step futher and create a  or blogspot (have litterally just found out they are the same thing.) and maybe even a BuzzNet(who make you do a personality test when you sign up.)They'll probably all end up being the same blog copy and pasted, but we'll see, different blogsheres bring different thing to the table.

As this is a first post maybe a little bit about me is in order. So here are a few facts about me and two lies...

I am a Film and Television student.

I have an incrediably dorky side to me the refuses to stay on just the one side.

The amount of figurines (not dolls, not toys) in my room is starting to overfollow their designated shelves.

My love of Mcfly is costing me more money than I own.

I get confused when the films/tv shows/music I like get popular - not because their 'mine' or their now 'mainstream', just because it's really rather rare.

Whedon is not God, but he's pretty close.

I often wonder if I was born in the wrong decade.

Which ones are lies?    ....    Okay, so maybe they're all true, but at one time or another I wished each one wasn't true, but such is life of a fan girl.

If this is all a bit long winded for you, here's my .

If not then please do follow me, or you know... lurk.
